School Supply Lists 23-24

Buses - Please make sure your child is wearing their bus tag every day! This makes it much easier for your child to get to the correct destination. If your child is being picked up after school (instead of riding the bus), a note, e-mail, or phone call must be sent informing the teacher and the office of that change ASAP.  Thank you for your help in keeping your children safe!

Health - Please advise us of any specific concerns.  If your child has to take any medication or medication must be on hand for field trips (asthma inhaler, Epi-pen, etc.) please contact the front office.   There is necessary paperwork that must be completed before the school can administer any medication.

Absences - Please call the school if your child is going to be absent. If your family is going on a trip, please inform the school office and the teacher as soon as possible.

Important Life Changes/Circumstances - Please let me know if there are any major changes in your child’s life that may affect their school life.  I am here to support you and your child in any and every way I can.

Snacks -Your child should bring healthy snack every day. We have a brief snack time where students quietly visit with their friends and eat their snack for approximately 5-8 minutes. Please send a small portion of food that is nutritious and is easy to eat independently.  We would like to suggest…Grapes, String cheese, apple slices, celery sticks, carrots sticks, cheese and crackers, raisins, snack bar, etc.  Please do not send juice boxes.  Students should also bring a refillable water bottle to school each day.  They will have access to their water within the classroom at all times.

Lunch - Your child may bring their own lunch or you may opt to purchase lunch.  Goldwood Primary School is not equipped with a cafeteria, however, lunches are available for purchase.  For more information, click on the link RRCS Nutrition Services.

Communication Folders - Your student will turn in their daily communication folder every day. Please go through it every evening with your child and sign any papers that require a signature. Also, feel free to write notes to me if you are having any questions or concerns. You may also e-mail bilyk.jenna@rrcs.org or reach me through the school office at 440-356-6720.

Personal Items - Children love sharing personal items (stuffed animals, toys, etc.). However, I appreciate your help in keeping these personal items at home until I notify you of a special sharing time.  You may choose to keep an extra change of clothes in your child's backpack just in case.

Shoes - I always recommended that your child wear gym shoes at school, for comfort and safety. Your child may keep a pair of gym shoes at school if you wish. Not only will they always be here for fitness day, but they will be convenient to have available if they wear boots to school. If you prefer to not to have gym shoes left at school, please remember to have your child wear or bring them on fitness days. All students should wear shorts or pants on fitness day.

Birthdays - We will absolutely celebrate your child's birthday at school!  We will sing, dance and have a few special things to make their day special.  However, if you wish to send in something extra, only non-food items are allowed.  Some suggestions of items to send in would be pencils, crayons, or you can donate a book for the classroom library.  We will have a Summer Birthday celebration toward the end of school.  However, if you would rather your child celebrate their “un-birthday” or half birthday, please get in touch with me via email.

Money - If you need to send money with your child for ANY reason, please send it in an envelope marked with your child’s name, purpose of money, teacher’s name, and the amount in the envelope.  Please also send me a

Report Cards and Conferences - Our school year consists of 4 grading periods.  You will be notified by your teacher and the school when grades are available online at the end of each grading period.  There will be one parent teacher conference day in the month of November.   However,  communication about student progress will be frequent and I will be happy to schedule additional conferences if necessary.

Homework - There is no formal homework for kindergarten.  However, Kindergarten is a time to help lay the foundation for future success in school.  We recommend you help establish 2 basic daily routines ...
