Meet the Counselor
I am so glad to welcome you back to school for the 2023-2024 school year! My name is Courtney Dupré and I am the School Counselor for Northwood High School. I am excited for a fun year working with you and your child.
If you ever have any questions or concerns about your child in school please do not hesitate to contact me in the front office or by emailing me. Your child's safety, well-being, and academic goals are my main concern. If you would like to speak to me about these concerns please schedule a meeting with me or an administrator.
I look forward to working with you and your child this school year.
Description of Services:
Registers/enrolls/schedules current and new students
Plans and coordinates college and academic meetings/workshops
Educates, informs, guides and advises middle and high school students and their parents on curriculum tracks and graduation requirements to help them make informed decisions relating to the student's academic, personal, and career choices to ensure each students success.
Coordinates freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior career days/trips
Monitors student academic progress
Plans for and coordinates standardized tests: LEAP CONNECT, LEAP 2025, EXPLORE, PLAN, and ACT.
Attends meetings with administration, students, and parents.

Testing Information
CLEP (College Level Examination Program) is a group of standardized tests created and administered by the College Board. These tests assess college-level knowledge in thirty-six subject areas and provide a mechanism for earning college credits without taking college courses. In order to take this test, you must request more information from Mr. VanHuis.
LEAP 2025 is the updated assessment program for Louisiana to test students in English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science and Social Science. This is the test that is given towards the end of the year in grades 3-8 and in the following high school courses; English I, English II, Algebra I, Geometry, Biology I, and U.S. History (will change to Civics in 2023)
