Amy Clark was born into education (literally) with her father being a principal of a K-12 school for her entire growing up years in Elizabeth, Louisiana.   She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1996 from McNeese State University. Her first teaching experience was in 8th Grade and Brame Jr. High followed by 6th Grade at Elizabeth High School.  In 2001 she moved to Savannah, GA and was a stay at home mother with three small children. Her family moved in 2004 to New Philadelphia, OH. While in Ohio, Mrs. Clark discovered a new career path as a Home Visitor in the Ohio Help Me Grow program.  She became a certified Parents As Teachers Home Visitor/Service Coordinator and continued this career with Community Services of Venango agency after another family move to Cranberry, PA. During her years in this social services career she was trained exclusively to work with families of children ages prenatal through age 5 and has a wealth of knowledge on child development and parenting strategies.  Mrs. Clark feels this experience has been invaluable to her return to the classroom and to her home state in 2015 where she was immediately at home as a Northwood Gator. My name is Timmi Barton. I am a third grade Math and Science teacher here at Northwood. This is currently my fifth year at Northwood, and my sixth year teaching. I am also a math content leader for Rapides Parish, and love everything that involves numbers!

I am originally from North Dakota, and I graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead in December of 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I met my husband while I was visiting friends down in this area about six years ago, right after I graduated college, and decided to relocate to Louisiana. I grew up in a small town similar to Northwood, which was also K-12 school. My graduating class was one of the largest in the school with 32 students. After I graduated, I played volleyball at IHCC in Iowa for two years and graduated with my Associates Degree. I moved back to be closer to home and coached basketball for two seasons at my old high school. While coaching, I often subbed on my days off from school, and this is where I found my passion for teaching. I loved watching students grow throughout the year and forming lasting relationships with them both in the classroom and on the court. I truly enjoy what I do and seeing all of my students succeed in my class! We celebrate both small and large achievements all throughout the year.

In my spare time I love doing just about anything as long as I am with my family. I have been married to my husband Chris for three years. I have two children, Gage who is 16 and Colbie who is almost 2. We enjoy going to the lake in the summer, sitting around bonfires in the winter, going to LSU football games, and just about anything else that is sport related.
