I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a B.S. in Business Administration, but knew in my heart that was not the career that was meant for me. I returned to the same university and obtained a Masters of Education.  I started my journey as an educator in 2018 here at Northwood High School.  Since then I have most definitely become a Gator.  I teacher a variety of high school English courses and Speech.  I am the coach of the NHS Speech & Debate Team, NHS yearbook adviser, and a sponsor of The Class of 2022.  I love my job at the swamp and dedicate much of my time doing as much as I can to help grow our school. I love our students and truly invested in each student's success. In my spare time I love to read, write, and binge watch my favorite television shows.  I have two beautiful children and a wonderful husband who have helped me so much on the journey to becoming a teacher.

Hi! My name is Tabitha Kerik and I started my teaching career at Northwood High School in 2009. I attended LSUA and earned an A.S Degree in Criminal Justice, and from there I went on to earn my Bachelor’s Degree at Northwestern State University. I enjoy teaching because as a teacher I have a unique opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life that goes far beyond education. As an elective teacher I get to educate my students on the skills needed to become a successful and productive member of society. I can truly say that I am blessed to teach at Northwood because I have an opportunity to give back to my community. Being a teacher at Northwood is very dear to me as both my husband and I graduated from Northwood in ’93 and our sons in 2014 and 2019. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching sports, hunting, fishing, and repurposing furniture.
