The Roycemore Middle School Experience

Roycemore’s Middle School is MORE than school... it is an Experience. Different from any Middle School around, our students engage in unique learning opportunities that are challenging, individualized, engaging, and student-directed. Students experience their time at school wholly differently from anything they have encountered before. Collectively we call it The Middle School Experience.

A key component of The Middle School Experience is the powerful relationship forged between teacher and student, as well as among students. Our teachers are experts in understanding the unique intellectual, social, personal and physical needs of young adolescents. They meet students where they are to provide educational experiences that support them. College prep academics are balanced with opportunities for social growth. Focused on critical thinking and creativity, our core Middle School curriculum emphasizes how to study, explore, research, and write well. Core subjects taught include: math, science, humanities, Spanish, French, art, music, communications, and physical education/wellness.

Faculty members encourage, support and monitor the progress of each child, and maintain high expectations for academic and personal growth. Teachers come to know students as individuals with many talents and abilities, while also speaking honestly about areas of challenge. Faculty members establish a collaborative relationship with parents based on an understanding of early adolescence as a challenging but important stage in human development in which academic, personal, and social growth hold equal value in preparing students for future success.

Roycemore’s Middle School provides an educational home for young people to thrive, and opportunities for student success abound! To learn more about what we do, please visit the Programs page.
