Computer Information Technology is designed to give students a solid foundation in the digital skills that are essential in today’s academic and professional environments. This course introduces students to core computer applications and information technology concepts, blending hands-on practice with a broad understanding of how technology shapes the world around us. Students will develop practical skills in keyboarding and typing, ensuring they can work efficiently and accurately on any computer. The curriculum covers Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, giving students the ability to create documents, presentations, and manage data—skills that are valuable in nearly every field.
Students will explore how computers work, how information is stored and shared, and the ethical implications of the digital world. This course is also articulated with Mt. San Antonio College’s Computer Information Systems program. That means students who successfully complete the class can earn college credit, giving them a head start on their postsecondary education and a stronger résumé for future opportunities.
