I am excited to be your Voigt Elementary School Counselor this year! This is my 13th year at Voigt, and I can truly say that Voigt is the place to be!
My teaching background is in special education working with early childhood through upper elementary, and I completed my undergraduate degree at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and my school counseling graduate coursework at Lamar University. I am passionate about working with children, especially children with behavior or social skill challenges, and I love creating change through collaborating with families and teachers.
In addition to being a classroom teacher and special education case manager, I have also gone through a 240-hour Behavior Coach Endorsement Training, served as a teacher-coach, and led professional development for both Round Rock ISD educators and local childcare providers.
Outside of school, I volunteer each summer at a therapeutic camp in North Texas. This camp is 90% traditional summer camp and 10% counseling, with group therapy sessions led by licensed counselors. I serve as a cabin buddy, a volunteer camp counselor, and lead activities and participate in group therapy sessions alongside the campers.
