I am excited to be your Voigt Elementary School Counselor this year! This is my 10th year at Voigt, and I can truly say that Voigt is the place to be!
My teaching background is in special education working with early childhood through upper elementary, and I completed my undergraduate degree at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and my school counseling graduate coursework at Lamar University. I am passionate about working with children, especially children with behavior or social skill challenges, and I love creating change through collaborating with families and teachers.
In addition to being a classroom teacher and special education case manager, I have also gone through a 240-hour Behavior Coach Endorsement Training, served as a teacher-coach, and led professional development for both Round Rock ISD educators and local childcare providers.
Outside of school, I volunteer each summer at a grief camp in Granbury, Texas, called El Tesoro de la Vida. This camp is 90% traditional summer camp and 10% grief counseling, with group therapy sessions led by licensed counselors. I serve as a cabin buddy, a volunteer camp counselor, for 5th grade girls and lead activities and participate in group therapy sessions alongside the campers.

Hello Voigt Families!
I can't tell you how much I enjoy being a Viking at Voigt! This school is the greatest, and I love being a part of your educational experience. I have been in education for 10 years serving as a High School Teacher and School Counselor. I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Alabama A&M University (GO BULLDOGS!) I plan to pursue a Doctoral Degree in Counseling because I love to learn.
Personally, my husband Richard and I have two Beautiful and Amazing daughters who are also a part of the RRISD family. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and reading!
Faith, Family and Friendships are things I truly value in life :)
