Mrs. Rodriguez

Hi! My name is Mrs. Rodriguez and I am so excited to be a part of your student’s education this year at Union Hill. We are going to have an amazing year with a lot of new adventures and learning. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us as a learning community. I look forward to learning all about you, but first I’m going to tell you a little about me.

I was raised in Iowa and moved to the great state of Texas in 1994. It was here that I attended college and earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and then earned my teaching certificate. I graduated from Texas State University. Go Bobcats! I completed my master’s degree in Education in December 2013.

This will be my seventh year of teaching 4th grade but not my first year at Union Hill. I have been part of the Union Hill campus in many aspects over several years. I am very excited to be a part of this amazing team!

I am married to my wonderful husband, Hector, and we have two wonderful girls. Devon is fifteen and Taylor will turn nine in September. They are both very active and keep us busy. This year they were members of a summer track club and were very successful. Taylor is ranked in the top 3 in the region for javelin throwing, shot put, high jump and triathlon. This year she competed at the Summer Junior Olympics in all of her events. She is ranked in the top 25 in the nation. We are very proud of her! Devon competed at the Summer Junior Olympics as well. She is ranked nationally in the 400m hurdles. It was an exciting (but very hot) summer.

Outside of school and my girls’ activities, I enjoy running, reading and watching movies.

I look forward to teaching your student this year and giving them the confidence to be life-long learners. I know we are going to have a terrific year together!!! Go wolves!
