Options: Your child has the option to bring his/her lunch from home or purchase a school lunch. There are three choices offered daily from our cafeteria. To find menus and pricing click on this link .
Payment for school lunches: Parents should create a meal account with My School Bucks (use this link) to pay for your child's meals when purchasing school meals.
Home lunches: Home lunches should be "healthy" lunches that do not require a microwave for heating. Use thermos to keep food warm until lunch time (see image below). Please, refrain from putting candy into your child's lunch.
Also, it is best that your child arrive to school in the morning with his/her home lunch to guarantee your child has his/her lunch at lunch time (lunch times vary from class to class).

Third graders have a morning snack time. Students should bring a healthy "not messy" snack and a water bottle to school each morning (teachers do not provide snack). We want our students working at their fullest potential, so NO sugary treats like candy or desserts.
Ideas for healthy snacks are: fresh fruit (strawberries, orange slices, banana, blueberries, grapes, etc), crackers, granola bars, cheese sticks, dried fruit, carrot sticks, cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, no mess applesauce pouch, trail mix, etc.
Snacks that should NOT come to school are: candy, cookies, cake, any food that requires a spoon or fork like yogurt or applesauce, Cheetos or Doritos, etc.
Reusable water bottle DAILY: Your child MUST bring a water bottle to school each day. To prevent water bottles from getting lost, please be sure it is clearly labeled with your child's first and last name. You may also want to send your child's water bottle in a plastic Ziploc bag to prevent damaging your child's belongings if the bottle leaks or has condensation. Only water (no milk, soda, or flavored drinks) should be in this bottle.
Due to food allergies and other food sensitivities, parents may want to celebrate their child's birthday by providing a simple birthday gift or "goodie bag" for their classmates. In the past some of the birthday gifts/goodie bags have included: cool pencils and erasers, pop-it toys, fidget toys, art/craft kits, and keychains. Again, if a parent decides to do this for their child make sure to bring enough gifts/goodie bags for the whole class.
Your child may bring a birthday treat to share with the class. This is not ideal, due to food allergies but if this is the option a parent would like to do please email your child's teacher to find out if there are any food allergies. Food treats must be store bought "mess free" treats like cookies, glazed donuts, brownies and/or fresh fruit. These items will show the ingredients on the package which will help identify possible food allergies. Fresh fruit is a great sweet treat for students like grapes, strawberries, orange wedges and apple slices.
Lastly, if your child wants to pass out birthday party invitations in class (during the school day), your child must have an invitation for each child in the class (all boys or all girls is OK). Otherwise, please email or phone specific invitees parents outside the school day when only wanting to invite a few students from class.
