Community Mental Health Resources

Although we love meeting with students individually and are available to do short-term counseling and intervention, we may talk to you about referring out to a mental health practitioner if we see a need, and you are welcome to contact us anytime to discuss this option for your child. Round Rock ISD’s Counseling Services now operates campus-based mental health centers staffed by licensed therapists with Bluebonnet Trails Community Services. These therapists are able to come to campus to offer sessions (once every other week, for an average of 6-8 sessions) to students during the school day on a limited basis based on student need and family challenges with accessibility. Please contact Mrs. Kentopp if you would like to discuss a referral to RRISD campus-based therapists.

RRISD counselors cannot refer to private practices or individual practitioners, but below you will find a list of mental health resources in the community if you would like to pursue mental health services for your child outside of RRISD. We may also refer you to the below organizations in the event of an urgent need or mental health crisis. Also please note you can obtain referrals from your child's pediatrician, by calling your insurance, or through your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) if you have one. Psychology Today also has a tool where you can search for local mental health practitioners by by zip code, speciality, insurance, etc.
