In order to take college courses, students must meet College Readiness in Reading, Writing, and Math. This can be done by SAT, ACT or TSI (Texas Success Initiative Test).
You will need to provide a copy of College Readiness to your Counselor.
If a student takes the TSI test at a different campus (including ACC) the scores must be shared with us through Accuplacer - click here for directions.
TSI is the standard students must meet in order to take classes for credit in college. Students are required to prove college readiness through one of the following ways:
SAT: 480 English/530 math
ACT: 23 composite/19 English/19 math
TSIA2: ELAR - 945 and an Essay of 5 or more or less than 945 and a Diagnostic Level of 5 or more and an Essay of 5 or more / Math - 950 or less than 950 and a Diagnostic Level of 6.
Students taking English or Social Studies courses are required to meet TSI in English; Math, science, and economics require math TSI.
If you have not proven college readiness using any of the scores below, students must take the TSI Assessment. See instructions below for TSI testing.

To be eligible for the classes offered at Stony Point you have to pass the Reading and Writing. All Math and Science based courses require Reading, Writing and Math.
