Patsy Sommer Elementary School Nurse Website
Friendly Reminders from the Nurse
Please pack an extra change of clothes in your students backpack - I do not keep extra clothes in my clinic
If your student visits the clinic, a nurse pass will be sent home in your students backpack as notification
Based on the number of students seen each day, phone calls are not made each time a student visits the nurse. Some reasons when the nurse will call - fever, head injury, significant injury, a student needing to be picked up or any other issues based on nurse discretion.
About Nurse Stephanie
My name is Stephanie Lowe and I am very excited to be the school nurse at Sommer Elementary. This is my second year as a school nurse in Round Rock ISD and I am going on my 4th year as a Registered Nurse. I was previously a bedside nurse at St. David's North Austin in the Postpartum unit. I have graduated from Sacred Heart University and Concordia University - Irvine in support of my Bachelors degrees.
I am originally from Farmington, Connecticut but have lived in Cedar Park, Texas most of my life. I do not miss the snow at all! I have a fur baby, Lola, and she keeps me very active when I'm not in the school. I have always had a passion for working with children prior to becoming a nurse and I am so grateful to be able to mesh my two loves together with school nursing.
I look forward to a healthy successful year and I am always available to talk via phone/email/in person so please do not hesitate to reach out!
Warm regards - Stephanie Lowe, RN-BSN

Health Records Specialist - Amanda Fischer
(Contact Info - amanda_fischer@roundrockisd.org / Phone: 512-704-0609)
My name is Amanda Fischer and I am so happy to be the Health Records Specialist here at Sommer Elementary this year! I am here just half time, I spend the other half of my time down the road at England Elementary. My background is primarily in early childhood education. I have worked in a variety of preschool environments and have been the lead teacher for classrooms of infants up to 2 year olds. I have previously worked for RRISD at the Fern Bluff and Great Oaks campuses as cafeteria monitor/office aide, crossing guard, guest educator, and childcare assistant. I was a stay-at-home mom for a long time, as well, but my own kids are pretty grown up now, they are 16, 20, and 21 years old.
I have lived in Round Rock for 10 years with my husband, 2 sons and daughter. We moved here from San Diego, CA and I grew up in Minneapolis, MN - so even after all this time I am still not used to how hot it is in TX! I have 3 dogs (Perry, Zoey, & Jack) and 2 cats (Leo & Bella) who keep me busy at home.
