Welcome to 2nd grade!

Hello everyone! My name is Misty DeDear, and I am so excited to be teaching your child this year. I received my degree in psychology from the University of Houston-Victoria, and this will be my second year teaching 2nd grade at Elsa England Elementary. 

As we embark on this year together, my primary goal is to create a warm and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued, respected, and inspired to learn. Each student brings unique qualities and strengths to our classroom community, and I am committed to celebrating these differences while fostering a sense of unity and collaboration among all students. I believe that open communication between home and school is essential for your child’s success, so please know that my door is always open, and I welcome your thoughts, questions, and concerns.

I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether hiking or simply enjoying nature. I am also an avid reader and love spending quality time with my family and friends. Outside of school, I stay busy with my wonderful 10-year-old daughter, our playful goldendoodle, and two curious cats who keep life interesting!

I am honored to be part of your child’s academic journey. I am looking forward to a fantastic school year filled with growth, learning, and fun experiences. Together, we can make this a successful and memorable year!!
