Round Rock ISD Special Olympics
Letter Jacket Eligibility Criteria
Students who participate in Round Rock ISD Special Olympics will be eligible to earn an athletic letter. Student athletes must meet the following criteria:
Athletes may begin earning credits toward their letter jacket at the beginning of their freshman year.
The athlete must have a current Special Olympics Texas Athlete Enrollment/Medical Release Form on file.
Students must have consistent, good attendance in all practices. Athletes are expected to attend all practices unless it is excused due to illness or other unpreventable absence (no unexcused absences).
Students must accumulate 6 total points -
Participation in a full season, with good attendance and competing at the area-level competition earns an athlete - 1 point.
Participation in practices after area, in preparation for state competition, and successfully competing at the state-level competition, earns an athlete an additional - 1 point.
Participation in a complete season of training, with good attendance, but are not recommended for competition earns an athlete - .5 point
Students must display good sportsmanship, attitude, and teamwork throughout the seasons and at competitions.
Athlete will not be eligible for a jacket any earlier than the end of their
sophomore year.
Parents and/or guardians of a jacket-eligible Special Olympics athlete will be contacted by the Head of Delegation, Stephanie Kolaczkowski, prior to ordering. Fittings are typically held twice a year, so you may not be contacted immediately after your athlete earns their 6th credit.
Any deviation from the above policy is solely a Round Rock ISD Special Olympics Head of Delegation decision with input from Delegation Representatives.
