Library Services

I’m Kristen Fournier, proud Forest North Librarian since 2009! I have a BA in English and a MSIS in Information Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.  I love promoting a culture of reading & learning on our campus to all of our students and am passionate about connecting kids to books, instruction, and educational equity. Check out our library online at bit.ly/FNELibrary to search the catalog, use our subscription databases from home, and read about upcoming events.

Parents can borrow books

Check out up to 6 books for 2 weeks with your student/s.  Come visit the library any day between 7:20-7:40 during Wake Up & Read, or 2:50-3:10 for a quick checkout after school! Self-selection is the best way to develop your student’s love of reading! Students can return books on their own at their leisure.

Checkout Limits

PreK-K students check out 1 book, 1st & 2nd get 2 books, and 3rd-5th get 3 books. Students are welcome to check out books every day before or during school, and can keep them for up to two weeks.  After that, we’ll send home an overdue notice to remind you to bring it back. There are no late fees. Students are financially responsible for any damaged or lost books so that we can replace them. Please help your student build responsibility by checking in with them, and make a plan for where to keep the book at home- in their backpack, on a shelf, etc.

We LOVE Volunteers!

The library is always searching for parent and community volunteers.  Please join our Remind Account text @forestnorthlibrary to 81010) to get occasional texts when we need help!  We especially need extra hands during Book Fairs - check out the website for more information.
