August:
Analyze fiction stories, write opinion paragraphs and alternate story endings or settings.
Spelling: review long and short vowels, vowel teams, -le words
Social Studies: Traits of good citizens and responsibilities
November:
Phonic/Word Study - We will assess our phonics knowledge to find a baseline for instruction.
Reading: Argumentative Texts - what is the claim, who is the audience, and what proof and details support the main idea
We will practice annotating about our reading, building stamina, and finding books and texts we find interesting. We will familiarize ourselves with different types of texts and their features.
Writing: We will form and develop writing ideas about for a personal narrative.
