This is an information session about the changes to the Biology TEKS due to streamlining. The session will also review changes to the ARRC for the 2017-18 school year. Teachers will have time to collaborate within their content area.

Legends of Learning launched 700 games in Earth, Life and Physical science in March 2017 for 5th-8th grade. As such, the games align very closely to the TEKS. Come see how you can integrate a new and fun game-based learning platform into your curriculum to give your students the superpower of knowledge!

In this session teachers can expect to play fun Edgames and learn how to:

• Use an innovative approach to game based learning as a primary vehicle for science instruction.
• Make lessons fun and accessible and encourage students to take personal responsibility for their education.
• Personalize the gaming experience down to the individual student level.
• Create an equitable learning environment where students can progress at their own rate, allowing for differentiation based on student needs.

My class used Notability, which is an App for the iPads, to complete their dissections, along with a Pre-Lab from Google Classroom. The students were able to take photos of each part of the specimen and then label them on Notability. Participants will dissect a specimen and practice using this App.

This session will show you different ways to increase student engagement. These activities were used for a 7th grade math after school STAAR tutorials. Stop by and walk away with some engaging ideas!

Zap is a fun interactive way for students to review topics. It is very universal and helps to build cooperation and teamwork.
