Hernandez MS Choir

Mission Statement

The Hernandez Choir program aims to develop culturally aware musicians and scholars who represent Hernandez Middle School at performances and competitions.

About the Director

Mrs. Sarah Martinez earned a Bachelor of Music degree summa cum laude from Texas State University, where she also completed a Master of Curriculum and Instruction degree and Kodály Certification. She taught elementary music for 7 years, and this is her 6th year teaching middle school choir. She received a Doctor of Education degree in Teacher Leadership from Walden University. She currently serves on the state board for the Kodály Educators of Texas as the treasurer, and she has served as the middle school vocal coordinator for TMEA Region 26.
