Classroom Expectations

Manage Yourself

• Take care of restroom and water needs during passing periods.

• Be in your assigned spot with all daily classroom supplies at the start of each rehearsal.

• Do not bring gum, food, or drinks (except bottled water) into the rehearsal space.

Use Equipment, Instruments, and Supplies with Care

• Ask permission before using equipment (sound system, dry erase board, computer, etc).

• Do not use or play with an instrument that doesn't belong to you.

• If you borrow supplies from the director, return them at the end of class.

Share Responsibility for Your Learning

• Practice independently every week.

• Ask for help when you need it, and help others when they ask.

• Set goals for yourself as a musician, and reflect on your progress.

Involve Yourself

• Participate in class every day to the best of your ability.

• If you are ill and cannot fully participate, inform the director before the class period begins.

• Attend all required rehearsals and concerts.

Consider Others

• Keep your hands, feet, and belongings to yourself.

• If you have something to contribute, raise your hand and wait to be acknowledged.

• Represent yourself, Hernandez Middle School, and Round Rock ISD with integrity.

  • Student/Teacher Conference
  • Parent/Teacher Conference
  • Office Referral
  • Removal of Extracurricular Privileges
  • Removal from the Program

Daily Classroom Supplies

  • Pencil with an eraser
  • 1” choir binder kept organized with 5 dividers

(Sight Reading, Repertoire, Written Assignments, Process Journal, Resources)

  • Earbuds (7th & 8th Grade Advanced Choir)
  • Bottled water (optional)
