Mrs. Petrey (Duffy)

Hello families, my name is Maureen (Duffy) Petrey, and I'm so excited to be at Elsa England! This is my tenth year teaching, and my eighth year in RRISD.  I previously taught in Klein ISD in Houston and have taught both 2nd and 4th grades. 

I'm originally from Houston and I received my degree in education from Texas A&M (whoop!) in 2014. My husband is also an educator and we moved to the Austin area in 2017.  We have three cats, Russell, Fran, & Lulu. And just this last May we welcomed our first child, Myles, into our family ❤️

I believe that by building relationships with students I can positively influence them both academically and emotionally/socially.  My goal/hope is that each student leaves at the end of the year feeling more confident in themselves and their abilities!

** I'm working on changing my maiden name (Duffy) to my married last name (Petrey), so apologies for the potential confusion. Petrey is pronounced "pet - tree."**
