About Me. . .
Greetings. I am both happy and proud to be part of the fourth grade team. It is a marvelous collection of fun, flexible, and dedicated professionals- male and female, young and old. Myself, I'm an older male. This is my 19th year teaching fourth grade in the Round Rock school district. I live within walking distance of the school. My wife is a principal in Leander, and our oldest child teaches fifth grade at England. Together, my wife and I have raised five solid citizens. It is my hope that while your child is in my care, I can contribute towards him or her reaching the same goal. Collectively, I refer to my students as Grubbies. The class moto: "Grubbies never quit! We are here to learn. We are thinking humans, not monkey-robots. We are problem-solving heroes, living a life of service! "

In addition to teaching, I am active at church, active outdoors, and just plain active. I keep busy. Even while watching sports, I usually multitask. I am also an artist and have been on a productive jag for a few years, now. My kinesthetic and creative natures both figure in my teaching style. I often draw a representation of whatever content we are addressing on the touch screen. I also frequently turn lessons into "being there" experiences. Students get the opportunity to be human matter particles, to lay "railroad" track, to re-enact the Battle of the Alamo, etc. And I crack occasional jokes.

Our grade level is departmentalized. We each teach Texas History, but the other subjects are divided up between my partner teacher, Cameron Bevers and myself. She will be teaching Language Arts and me, Math and Science.

This is going to be a fabulous year. Just know that if your child is in my class, they are automatically smarter and better looking just for being there!
