CHALK WALK ANNOUNCEMENT!!
Just a friendly reminder that today is the chalk walk!! If your child has returned the permission slip and is planning to attend this event with the 6th grade art club today after school, here is more information: We will walk downtown as a group and begin to create our beautiful chalk art on the corner of Brown and Bagdad.
The Chalk Walk is a fun FREE family event that is open to the public, so feel free to come down with a lawn chair and watch the kids draw or walk around and see all of the other artists in action. Food vendors will be selling food and live music happens at night.
Pizza and water will be provided to art club students for dinner. Pick up your child no later than 8:00 PM. We usually are done around 7:00, so you can text me for an update. Traffic can be really crazy for this event, so plan accordingly. The best locations for pick up will be the firehouse or the parking garage on the corner of Brown and Bagdad. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.
One more reminder: I am bringing bug spray and sunscreen, but if they haven't left yet, make sure your child is wearing comfortable clothes that can get a little dirty! THANKS!!
Art club is working on sketches for the Round Walk Chalk Walk. Students will participate on October 5th.
6th Grade Art Club had their first meeting on Tuesday, September 4th. Students learned all about the club and then worked on a creative lettering "mini-lesson"

What is Art Club?
Art club is an extracurricular activity that allows students to work on additional art projects outside of the school day. We tailor our meetings as a group, to fit the needs of students involved in the club. In the past, 6th grade art club has participated in the Round Rock Chalk Walk, Empty Bowls Festival, in addition to school wide improvement projects and fun holiday arts and crafts projects.
Who is the sponsor and how can I reach her?
Mrs. Esparza is sponsoring 6th Grade Art Club and she will hold meetings on Tuesdays in Room 618 (except on bolded dates). If you need to reach her you can call her classroom at (512) 428-3233 or email: abigail_esparza@roundrockisd.org
