Second, third, fourth and fifth grade contestants in a chess puzzle contest receive a paper-and-pencil test that includes a series of chess boards with pieces in particular positions. Questions are based on analysis of material or possible moves in each given diagram. After practicing for seven weeks, three students from each grade level will represent Deep Wood at our Learning Community Meet.
This team will practice each Tuesday starting the week of November 14th through the week of January 23rd from 3:00 - 4:00 pm in the library.
