DANCE
Dance Class.MOV6th-8th Grade at Deerpark
No auditions are needed. See your counselor for steps in adding dance to your schedule. Students will learn basic elements of dance styles and acquire the wellness information and skills to become healthy adults.

The McNeil Dance Department is an inclusive, safe and fun environment at our school. You will have a home away from home here at our 3 fabulous studios, supportive staff and awesome dancers. STEP 2:
Attend the placement drive on Saturday, Feb 5th, 2022 at Deerpark during your time slot. Try out different instruments and pick your instrument for the 2022-2023 school year!

Woodwinds and Percussion will submit their auditions by TBD. They will play as many scales as they know and a prepared etude that we will release in late March. Materials will be posted at www.mcneilband.org

Orchestra
Deerpark Orchestra.mp4Beginning Orchestra
Students develop basic playing skills, practice habits, music reading, and listening skills, while playing violin, viola, cello or bass.
New to strings? Join us April 13th-14th (4:00-5:30pm) to try out some instruments and get sized for next year!
Do you have previous experience?
No problem! Send me a video of your audition so we can get you appropriately placed! Refer to the below section for audition packets, instructions and final audition due dates.
Current Orchestra Students
Placement Auditions will be held in class May 16th through May 20th. All auditions need to be completed by May 20th.
Orchestra at McNeil HS
Auditions are due 8:00 pm Sunday, April 10th.
Students will be added to a Google Classroom to upload their Audition video. Contact Ms. Duggan if you still need to be added to this Google Classroom by March 31st.
Theater
Beginning Theater
First year students explore elements of drama and conventions of theatre, interpret characters, voice and body expression and the relationship of theatre to history, society, and culture.
All students are welcome to audition for our annual spring musical!
