Hi, My name is Angie Bell and I'm thrilled to be teaching art at Elsa England Elementary this year. It's my first year at England and I can't wait to meet my new students and their families. I've been teaching for 27 years and have experience teaching art at all levels, including high school, middle school, and elementary school. Additionally, I've taught yearbook and technology courses.
I have four adorable Basset Hounds, three of which are my own and one is a foster dog who's looking for a forever home.
In my free time, my fiance Greg and I enjoy sports and tailgating. I'm also passionate about cooking healthy meals, walking my dogs, and pursuing hobbies like DIY and gardening.
Mission for the Class: Art is a universal "language" that transcends all man-made barriers. My classes could better be called Humanities Classes, rather than just art classes. By exposing my students to many different cultures, historical time periods, etc. through art, they learn about the past, present, and even future of many different societies. Art is the story of humanity, from the earliest cave drawings to modern-day computer graphics. With tales of my own experiences as well as a variety of picture books, I offer knowledge and understanding. In turn, I hope that my students will learn appreciation and respect for others and our planet. Perhaps my lessons will promote the tolerance and acceptance of others that our diverse world so desperately needs. The artwork that your child creates, will be examples of his or her creativity, talent, perceptions, and understanding of art history and a variety of art mediums. I strive to provide an environment in which children feel safe to express themselves and enjoy the whole fine arts experience.
