The Texas Bluebonnet List is an outstanding selection of books for grades 3 through 6. Bluebonnet Award Nominees are chosen each year by a special committee of the Texas Library Association (TLA) representing all ten TLA districts in the state. For more information about the program, click here.
To participate in voting for the Bluebonnet Award book, students must read five Bluebonnet Nominees.
The Tejas Star Reading List (TSRL), compiled by a committee of Texas librarians, provides a recommended reading list to encourage children ages 5-12 to explore multicultural books and to discover the cognitive and economic benefits of bilingualism and multilingualism. The Tejas Star Reading List is intended for self-selected recreational reading.
The Armadillo Readers’ Choice Award is a program for K-2 students in Round Rock ISD. Each year, ten outstanding picture books are nominated by librarians in the district, with special attention to diversity, variety of literature, appealing high-interest subject matter, and curricular areas in building the book list. All ten books are read aloud with all K-2 students throughout the year. The students will vote for their favorite book at the end of the school year; grade level, campus and district results are eagerly anticipated each May!
