Meet the Staff

About

Ms. Margocs landed in Texas after a worldwide tour as an Army BRAT.  She graduated from U.T. Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in the areas of General Elementary and Special Education. She taught in Lago Vista, became a mom, worked in a neonatal intensive care unit, facilitated ARD meetings in Round Rock ISD, and was a special education teacher at Anderson Mill Elementary, in that order! Her two children are legacy Armadillos.  She graduated with her Master's degree in Library Science from Sam Houston State University in 2012, and became Patsy Sommer Elementary's librarian in 2013.  She returned to AME as the campus librarian in 2020.  Ms. Margocs resides in Austin with her quality control engineer husband.  One of Ms Margocs' favorite phrases is "book coma"; besides reading, she enjoys crocheting and baking. 

About

Ms. Karla was born and raised in El Paso, TX, and made her way to Austin in 2024. She started school

back in El Paso and wants to continue her education at U.T. Austin. Her experience working at libraries

starts back in 2015 as a work-study for 2 years at the Mission del Paso Library at EPCC. She was later

offered a part-time Library Clerk position where she worked for two and a half years before moving to

Austin. Her favorite things to do are trying out new art forms, reading fantasy and horror books, and

spending time with her husky, Mochi.
