If the keyboard and/or trackpad are not working correctly, try completely shutting down the chromebook and turning it back on again.
If the trackpad is having issues and you have a USB mouse plugged in, try unplugging the mouse and restarting the chromebook.
If that doesn't work or only certain keys are not working (like the T and Y keys) please reference the Hardware Damage page.
If you see orange boxes everywhere you click and your chromebook talks to you it is most likely the Chrome Vox tool in the Accessibility settings. Watch the video below to learn how to turn it off.

It is possible that the Chrome OS (operating system) settings were changed from English to another language. Watch the video below to learn how to change it back or go to: Settings: Advanced/Languages, 'Manage languages in Chrome OS settings', Languages and Inputs should be set to English.
Tip: It is helpful to pull up screenshots of the settings screens that are in English (search for them online from a different device). It will help to know where to click when you can't read what it says.

Power your chromebook completely off.
Open the lid and gently place it upside down on a hard surface. (It should look like a tent or an A with both edges touching the table and the keyboard facing down.
Leave the chromebook in that position and powered off for at least 24 hours (longer if it was a lot of liquid) to dry out.
Once it is dry, try powering it on again. If it won't turn on or turns on but does not work correctly, see the Hardware Damage page for the next steps.
