How does this degree program work?

West Texas A&M University Bachelor's of General Studies is an online based program.

You will simultaneously take classes at West Texas A&M University and Western Texas College. You will receive guidance on coursework and post-Bachelor's plans from a dedicated WTAMU advisor. Your final 39 credit hours will be completed online through WTAMU. A local coach will also do weekly check-ins with you as your progress through your course work.

Each student attending WTAMU will also participate in a local support program called Finishers. Within this program you will be an encourager to another student, have an encourager and participate in a monthly Finishers gathering.

What does it cost?

The average cost for a year at West Texas A&M University (30 semester credits hours a year) for a Texas Resident is $8800-9200. This is based on the 2019-2020 tuition and fee rates.

You will also have books that will need to be purchased each semester.

Financial Aid can be applied to tuition.

Does this university accept transfer credits?

Yes! West Texas A&M University will accept up to 81 hours of transfer credit.

Do y'all have any scholarships available?

We have the Transfer Scholarship opportunities available to students who take 12 or more hours with us a semester.

*Resident Transfer Assistance Scholarship - $2,000/yr for up to 2 years – requirements of 3.0 GPA and 30 transfer hours, Texas resident

*Non-resident Transfer Assistance Scholarship - $1,000/yr for up to 2 years – requirement of 3.0 GPA and 30 transfer hours

*President's Transfer Scholarship - $3,000/yr for up to 2 years – requirements of 3.5 GPA and 60 transfer hours

What are the requirements to start at this university?

To enroll in West Texas A&M University, you must have a highschool diploma or GED.

In addition, you must have a 2.0 GPA or higher.

If you already have an Associate Degree you will begin taking your classes through West Texas A&M University and Western Texas College at the same time. If you haven't earned an Associate Degree you will begin with classes at Western Texas College first.

What are the expectations for students pursuing this degree with EduNationU?

Each of EduNationU's university partners has different support available.

For West Texas A&M University, you'll have 4 key expectations:
