Multiline Client Instructions

NEC Multiline Client (MLC) Mobile User's Guide for Android & Apple Devices [March 2019]

STEP 1: Download and install the NEC MLC app from the App Store or Google Play.

Search for NEC MLC in appropriate app store. Or select from bellow.

STEP 2: Start Cisco AnyConnect on your phone & connect to the RCS district network.

Follow these instructions on how to install and configure Cisco AnyConnect to connect to the RCS district network from your phone while off-site.

This needs to be done before proceeding. The AnyConnect app allows your phone to connect to the RCS network when you are offsite.

It is recommended to follow the rest of the directions on a device besides your phone so that you can perform these steps on your phone.


STEP 2: Once installed, open NEC MLC app on your phone.

Accept the SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT

You may get a warning about optimizing battery usage.

It is recommend to Allow this to make the use of the software easier while it is running.

You will get a 911 warning, just tap OK.

Tap Dismiss when the MLC Activation window appears.

Tap the More button in the bottom right corner

STEP 3: Add New Account

Tap Account

Tap the + sign in the upper right corner to add a new account

STEP 4: SIP Account Settings

Please note that only one person per extension. If you share an extension with someone, only one person can set this up.

Add the following settings:

  • Account name: RCS

  • User Name: Your extension number

  • Authentication Name: Your extension number

  • Display Name: Your extension number

  • Password: Your extension number

  • Server: 10.2.32.10

  • Dial Plan: Custom (this should already be set)


Do NOT leave this account page.

STEP 5: Advance Settings

Scroll down to the bottom and tap Advance Settings


Enter password: 6633222, then tap Advance Setting again.

Tap Dial Plan

Tap Custom

Tap the + sign in the upper right corner to add a new rule

Add the following settings for this rule

  • Rule Name: 8

  • Enabled: YES (check mark)

  • Rule Type: Add Prefix

  • Pattern: xxxxxxxxxx (this is 10 x's)

  • Prefix: 8

Use your back arrow until asked to save your settings. Tap Yes.

STEP 6: Set Default Account

Notice how Default is the Active account, or in this case Inactive!


Tap and hold on the RCS Account for 2 seconds for the popup menu to appear.

Tap Set as Default

STEP 7: Activation

Tap Activate

In the System Port Activation:

  • Enter 34100908876D for the Site Tag/Hardware Key Code

  • Tap I agree to accept terms of above Agreement so that the box is checked

STEP 8: Quit & Restart

  • If needed, return to the Dialer screen and tap the More button in the bottom right corner.

  • Tap Quit to shut down the application and then restart the application.

STEP 9: Make phone calls

When the application restarts you will know everything is setup correct by the green dot at the top next to your extension number and Online.


If you do not see the green dot double-check the Advance Settings from STEP 5 and make sure the Cisco AnyConnect is running and connected before starting the NEC MLC application.

To make phone calls, tap the On-hook icon at the bottom.

It will become green. This is like the handset is picked up at the phone.


Do not forget to use 8 before dialing area code and phone number.

8 (xxx) xxx-xxxx


The VMsg can be used to check VoiceMail.


Swipe left and right to access more options.


When not in use, be sure to Quit the application, as done before.

Closing the app is NOT the same as quitting the app.

Also, do not forget to disconnect the VPN in Cisco AnyConnect.
