Family Responsibilities

Student Responsibilities

  • Establishing and following the daily timetable for learning;

  • Following the routines and rules that are set up by your school for your learning and safety; the routines will be a bit different, so if you don’t understand anything, ask your teacher;

  • Working with your family to find a safe, comfortable, quiet space in your home where you can work effectively and successfully - bedrooms or places on your own are not the best place;

  • Regular monitoring to check for announcements and feedback from teachers;

  • Completing tasks to the best of your ability;

  • Doing your best to meet timelines, commitments, and due dates;

  • Communicating proactively with teachers if you require extra help;

  • Collaborating with and supporting classmates;

  • Following our ICT Code of Conduct.

To assist students with their responsibilities, parents can help by doing the following things....

  • Co-constructing routines and expectations and following the school timetable;

  • Setting up a space in which your child can work safely, productively and comfortably (bedrooms or more secluded areas of the house are not the best place for learning;

  • Monitoring communications from teachers to stay up to date;

  • Beginning and ending each day with an active check-in to help students reflect on their learning progress. At the start of the day, go through the timetable for the day so the children know what they have to do - at the end of the day, talk with them about what they achieved/how they went;

  • Encourage physical activity and mindfulness/wellbeing breaks.

    1. A PE tab is in the Student Learning area;

    2. Mindfulness/wellbeing links are on the Wellbeing tab in the Parent Information section. Checking in with your child regularly to help support wellbeing and maintain a sense of connection to school will be a very big challenge. These resources can help support children in this area;

  • Monitoring time online so that children stay safely connected without overdoing it.
