A space for Learning from Home

Below are some useful tips to help set up a Learning from Home space for you child(ren).

  • Have one space set aside for learning

Try to create a quiet, well-lit, and comfortable learning space. This might be the usual homework space, or something different might be required. Ask your child to help design and create the learning space to meet their needs.

Bedrooms are not for learning

  • A space for extended focused learning should be a family space, not in a bedroom. It should be a place where adults can sensibly monitor children's learning, particularly if they are using devices.

Develop routine

  • Just like at school, having routine is important. If you have more than one child learning from home, try to do the same things all together at the same time, for example, reading or math work.
