Year 11 and 12 students interested in pursuing a career in sport?

 

Applications are now open for our full-day program where students will go behind the scenes at JCU and then explore the Cowboys Community, Training and High Performance Centre in Townsville. 

 

Academic and industry experts from Physiotherapy, Biomechanics and Sports and Exercise Science will share their experience and expertise with participants and then students will take to the field for a high performance training session developing their skills in leadership, teamwork and perseverance.

 

The Heroes in Sport program is a one day program which will run on 12 and 13 August 2024 in Townsville.

*Travel subsidies are available for successful students travelling over 300km to the program.

Griffith University Head Start program helps motivated Year 11 and 12 students accelerate their tertiary studies and gain credit towards a degree while they’re still at school. By successfully completing the program, students will receive guaranteed admission into a range of Griffith University programs and can earn credit for up to two courses.

Griffith University Head Start At School – Griffith Chem and Griffith Phys

Head Start At-School is an excellent opportunity for motivated senior high school students to experience Griffith University by undertaking up to two courses (subjects) starting in year 11 and 12. These university-level courses cover many of the topics taught in senior Chemistry and Physics, providing additional resources to facilitate and extend learning of senior science subjects. Students who pass these courses will receive guaranteed admission into a range of Griffith University programs, credit for 1st year science courses, and two (2.00) adjustments towards their selection rank.

Year 12 students considering a career in medicine or dentistry, they will need to sit a compulsory entry exam known as the UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) before they can apply for relevant placements in the aforementioned fields of study within most universities
