Rodney Youth Space!

Our Friday sessions at Shoesmith Hall, Warkworth have come to an end! Thanks to everyone who came along. Unfortunately, having one fixed location really limited our ability to reach every corner of Rodney and engage with a large range of youth. 

So, this past summer we trialed a moveable Pop-Up Youth Space and activated this at events across the Rodney region! 

We went along to free summer events and set up an awesome chill out zone with gazebo, bean bags, music and free wifi and graffiti wall. Teens could meet our team, sign up to free classes, try their hand at street art and also just chill!

Our latest event was the Kumeū Arts - Arts in Action day. We were able to engage with over 70 young people using our temporary graffiti wall and youth chill out zone.  

Attending these types of events, have enabled us to reach more youth and by bringing the Youth Space directly to the youth, we are able to help alleviate the issue of transport that many of our young people struggle with, living in such a vast, rural area such as Rodney.
