Submissions for this round of funding have now closed. Thank you to everyone who sent in a proposal. We have approved 19 proposals which will deliver new & exciting, youth-focused projects, events and activities for rangatahi across Rodney. These projects will be delivered by March 31st 2026.

Leigh Teen Hang outs: Wednesday afternoons at Leigh Hall
Project Teen: An 8 Week, beginner art course for rangatahi ages 12-16 in the Helensville area
Creative Vibes: Intro to art therapy course for teens in Wellsford
Worth it! For teens: Teen wellbeing and leadership course in Warkworth
Youth Jiu-jitsu: Free, weekly beginner jiu-jitsu classes designed for local youth in the Wainui area
Rangatahi Sparring Comp: Free, weekly rangatahi kick-boxing in Snells Beach with youth-led sparring competition in December 2025
Ei Katu Workshop: One-day free, youth led, Ei Katu Cook Island head dress and dance workshop in Wellsford
Teen Yoga and Mindfulness: Free weekly teen yoga and mindfulness class for 13-18 year olds in Warkworth
6 Week DJ course: Free, weekly beginners DJ workshop for youth in the East Rodney area aimed at inspiring artists.
Barista Coffee Training: One day, beginner, barista coffee training, facilitated at Leigh Central. Aimed at upskilling local youth and improving their job prospects
Free, Defensive Driving course for local Wellsford youth who are rurally isolated, to increase accessibility to transport and employment. Hosted by Wellsford CAB.
Youth-led Overnight Bush Skills Camp in Kaukapakapa.
Youth Choir: An inclusive, accessible youth choir, to provide creative learning, and support community performances in the Warkworth, Snells Beach, Matakana, Leigh area.
"My Place" Youth Art Installation: Youth led, outdoor art installation at Kumeū Arts, designed and installed with guidance from experienced artists
A+ Music Band Series: A two week band camp for young musicians of all levels, in the Wellsford area, led by an experienced music teacher.
JAG youth day event: A youth-led community event for young people in Warkworth to gather and connect through crafts and games
Bluelight Fishing Training Program: 2 day introduction to fishing, boating and water safety for up to 15 students, aged 11-13 years.
16+ Youth Disco Night: A fun, safe space to celebrate, connect, and enjoy community together. Designed and led by youth with disability.
Art Social: An inclusive art social class for young adults with disabilities in Warkworth.
Peer-led mental health support group: 6 week teen wellbeing programme that teaches youth leadership and practical tools for managing mental health in Helensville.
The Rodney Youth Fund supports your project with one-off funding up to $2500.
Our team will support you to deliver your idea by helping you with marketing, project management and finding a venue. They can also use their network to help you find the best people to help you deliver your idea. Once that's ready, we will promote your idea to the community.
Our funding can help cover things such as:
venue or equipment hire
resources or materials for an event or workshop
promotion & publicity
one-off facilitator fees
In general, our funding does NOT cover:
on-going operational costs for a business
events or programmes that are only available to clubs, teams or members, religious ministry
school based initiatives
social service delivery
costs for projects already completed

Eligibility:
Applicants must be residents of Rodney
Project must take place within the Rodney Local Board area
Projects must be designed with or for young people
Projects must demonstrate clear objectives in line with our priorities (see online form)
“Youth” defined as those 12 - 25yrs old
Project must take place before March 31st 2025
