When people talk about the labour market they usually mean the jobs that people do and the supply of employment. Labour market information (LMI) can tell you the number of people in certain types of jobs, working arrangement such as whether they work full-time or part-time, how many people are unemployed and what is likely to happen locally, nationally and even internationally over the next few years. Labour market information can be used to show which job areas or sectors are recruiting more people and which sectors are recruiting less. If a sector is recruiting more people over time, then this sector is growing and may be more likely to offer more job opportunities in the future. If a sector is recruiting less people over time, then it is shrinking and you may find more competition for jobs in this sector in the future. On the Roding Valley website you will find a widget that is powered by LMI For All. You can type in the name of the job to see the growth.
