A formula sheet will be provided in your GCSE exams this year, so one will be provided for the PPEs as well. Make sure you are familiar with what's on the formula sheet and how to use them.
The checklist below contains all the topics you need to know. There are codes that you can use on Sparx to revise any of these topics.
Foundation: Topics for the Foundation Papers, targeting up to Grade 4.
Crossover: Topics for the Foundation and Higher Papers, targeting Grade 4&5.
Higher: Topics for the Higher Paper, targeting up to Grade 9.
Use the checklist to RAG yourself on each topic. You can use the Sparx codes to do a quick check if you are confident with any of the topics and use the videos to build your knowledge if you are not.
When working through practice papers
attempt the questions under exam conditions. If the paper has a time limit on the front page, try to stick to that time limit. If the paper is a non-calculator paper, do not use a calculator!
mark the question using the mark scheme.
any questions you get wrong, use Sparx Maths to revise the topic. You can search topics on Sparx Maths. If you are unsure of the topic of any question, email your Maths teacher and ask.
any questions you still do not understand, speak to your teacher.
There are different types of practice papers you can work through
Practice Papers have questions that are generally more straightforward to answer. These are useful to check if you have a good understanding of the topics and are able to use your knowledge to answer questions.
Mock Papers are written in the style of your actual GCSE exams. As this will resemble what the exam paper would like, it is very useful for practice
Past papers
Exam papers and mark schemes can be found by following the links above.
Remember, that these papers are full papers. It may contain topics you have not studied yet. You may leave those topics but you can of course use Sparx Maths or CorbettMaths to learn independently!
Here you can find the revision booklets as well as the slides used during form time intervention. You should already have the booklets if you are in a Maths Intervention form but if you are not, you can ask your Maths teacher to print them for you.
The booklets are designed for you to make notes on specific topics before trying some questions. If you were absent or have some gaps in your booklets, you can use the slides here to complete it before attempting the additional questions. Do note that examples are demonstrated in class and are not currently on the slides.
If you are not in a Maths intervention form, your teacher will provide you with the booklets over time. The best way to work with it is
make notes in your booklet using the slides for a topic
copy the example into your booklet (these are demonstrated in from but you can attempt the question and ask your maths teacher to check your work)
attempt the practice question and then check your answer on the slides
attempt the worksheet within the booklets and check your work with the provided answers
And repeat the above with the next topic! You may choose complete step 4 at a later date to check that you still know how to do it.
