My name is Charlie Laurent and I am an elementary teacher at Rocky Hill Country Day School located on the historic peninsula of Potowomut in Rhode Island. With a fascination for history and the fact that our school's campus is the site of one of the only remaining examples of a New England Country Estate, "Hopelands," I have spent time researching this historic area and felt it was significant enough to organize digitally. I have spent countless hours researching the place and the people. Using public records, genealogies, archival letters and documents, I have done my best to credit all of my sources. This is a work in progress.
