How Late Can I Register?
All-Access Passes can be purchased at any time prior to December 1st and can even be purchased at the door.
What if we want to participate, but not compete or perform?
Great! You will get tickets to the shows and all the workshops & masterclasses throughout the weekend. The education portion of the convention is the best part!
What if we want to sing, but not compete?
We have you covered! We will take up to four groups each night (eight total) who will sing in the lobby before the one of the evening competitions. You will have an audience who is waiting to enter the auditorium and fantastic natural acoustics. Your group will submit their video along with the show competitors, but will indicate on your submission form that you wish to sing the “Pre-Show” instead. You will have up to 6 minutes to showcase your groups!
What do I need to register?
All you need is group contact information and number of all-access passes. We will invoice you for payment.
What forms of payment do you take?
We encourage your payment to be sent as check to RHS Choir Boosters. Once you sign up for your All-Access passes, an invoice will be emailed to you soon after.
A credit card option is available with an additional service fee at jacketchoir.ludus.com.
What do I need to submit to perform?
Later this semester, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to submit. You will need:
An unlisted video performance of your group of up to 3 songs.
These do not have to be the same songs you will perform. You can choose to use mics, stage, etc. or you can just take a video of your group standing and singing. Videos will be judged based on singing and musicality, not visuals.A group bio, group photo, and indicate whether or not you are wishing to compete or perform a pre-show set.
You will be able to link your website or social media pages at this time so we can tag you in promos leading up to the festival.To indicate whether or not you will request a refund of your deposit if your group is not granted a slot to compete in prelims.
What if I’m a director that wants to bring students to the shows, but not the entire weekend?
Show tickets are sold on the Acatex website via Ludus!
What time on Friday do we need to be there?
Registration will begin at 1:30pm in the Rockwall-Heath High School Performing Arts Center Lobby.
If your group is chosen to compete, they will receive a soundcheck time between 2:00-5:00pm. We recommend arriving at the RHHS PAC at least 30 minutes prior to your soundcheck for check-in.
For attendees not performing on Friday, simply register before 7:00pm to receive your passes to attend prelims.
What happens on Saturday?
Clinicians will be here to teach all things a cappella through our provided workshops! There will be open masterclasses for you to attend to watch other groups perfect their songs. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to improve your group’s signing, stage presence, styling, arranging, and so much more!
Our six finalists, plus one Wild Card winner, will compete Saturday evening.
What is Wild Card?
Didn’t make it through to the Finals? You may get to still compete! We will choose one group at the Pre-Show Lobby Performance Saturday evening who will get an opportunity to soundcheck and get ready right before the show begins! You never know how things might turn out!
How long can my set be?
Friday Prelims: 4 minutes (~1 song)
Saturday Finals: 12 minutes (~3 songs)
Pre-Show Lobby: 6 minutes (~2 songs)
