How to Join the Eagles Esports Team

Are you an 8th-grade student at Elkton Middle School or a 9th–12th grader at East Rockingham High School? If you’re interested in becoming part of the Eagles Esports program, follow the steps below to get started!

Step 1: Sign Up

To join the Eagles Esports team, students must email one of the esports coaches or attend one of the official Esports Open Houses:

• May – Fall Season Recruitment

• December – Spring Season Recruitment

Students interested only in VHSL Spring Season may still attend the Fall Open House to practice and prepare, and vice-versa.

At the open house, students will receive:

• Permission slips

• Code of Conduct

• A condensed version of the Esports Handbook

Step 2: Review Your Materials

All players will receive essential documents that explain the expectations of the esports program, including:

• Permission Slip (must be signed by both student and guardian before staying after school)

• Esports Code of Conduct

• Condensed Esports Handbook

These documents outline:

• Program expectations

• Behavior and conduct requirements

• Attendance policies

• Academic eligibility guidelines

• Practice and match structure

Step 3: Stay Connected

Staying informed is a crucial part of being on the team.

All esports players must have the StudentSquare app downloaded on their phone.

Inside the ERHS Esports space, students will find:

• Weekly updates

• Practice and match calendars

• Important announcements

This is also the primary way for students to communicate with coaches regarding:

• Absences

• Schedule changes

• Match availability
