To participate in VHSL Matches, Regional Matches, or Casual Play, you need to see either your counsler or an esports coach to get the information needed. This includes permission slips & game interest form.
After signing up, you will receive an email with important materials, including:
✅ PlayVS Registration Instructions – PlayVS is the official esports organizer for VHSL and Regional Play. All players, including casual participants, must register.
✅ Esports Information Packet, ** This is now all part of the ESPORTS HANDBOOK which includes:
Esports Code of Conduct
Esports Attendance Policy
Rooms Setup Guide for both students and parents (Required for all team communications)
Academic Eligibility Requirements (Aligned with VHSL & ERHS policies)
Season Schedule (If available at the time of sign-up)
Permission Slip – Must be signed by both student and guardian before staying after school. This confirms that both the student and guardian have read and agreed to all esports program policies. (Required for participation in the esports lab.)
✅ Epic Games & Nintendo ID Setup Instructions – Required for linking accounts to PlayVS for official matches.
All esports-related information will also be available in the "Materials" section of the ERHS Esports Room in the RCPS App.
📢 Communication is Key!
All students and at least one guardian must be part of the RCPS app to receive updates on matches, practices, fundraising events, and other esports-related activities.
This is also the best way for students and parents to communicate with coaches regarding availability, schedule changes, or any questions about participation.

While our primary focus is on building committed VHSL competitive teams, we strive to provide a space for students who want to enjoy casual play. If you're interested in gaming but not ready to compete, here’s what you need to know:
🎮 Competitive players have first priority.
If all gaming PCs or Nintendo Switches are in use, casual players may be asked to give up their spot for a competitive player.
Regional competitive players have priority over casual players.
VHSL competitive players have priority over both casual and Regional players.
📌 All casual players must create a PlayVS account.
This allows us to keep you on our esports roster and makes it easier to transition to a competitive team in the future.
📄 Casual players must receive an esports information packet and return a signed permission slip before staying after school to play.
🚫 No permission slip = No play time.
📚 School comes first!
All casual players, like competitive players, must be in good academic standing.
If you are failing a class, you may not be allowed to participate in esports games until your grades improve.
🏫 No school = No esports.
If you are absent from school, you cannot access the esports room that day—just like competitive players.
We’re excited to have you in the Eagles Esports community, whether you're here to compete or just enjoy gaming! 🦅🎮
