Dance
NOTES: Make sure you practice on your own before audition day. All students will need to be prepared for the dance audition. We will practice a few times as a group before individual auditions begin, but students will need to have learned the dance on their own beforehand. When practicing MIRROR the dancer you see in the video. (ex: they have their right arm up, you will watch and lift your left as if you are facing them in the mirror). You can piroutte on your dominant leg.
The Landler is an iconic dance that will play a significant role in the show. This video breaks it down for you. For auditions, you should have the first three 8 counts prepared (make sure to count slowly, it should be 1-and-a-2-and-a-3-and-a-4). The three 8-counts should end right at the point where she spins standing in front of him while holding both of his hands. For auditions, we will put you in male-female pairs, so you only need to learn your part. If you have any questions, please reach out!
