Spanish 1 Units Overview

Pre-lesson: Introductions, Greetings, Goodbyes, Stereotypes, phone numbers, basic classroom commands, Tú v. Usted

Unit 1, Lesson 1: Talk about activities you like/don't like to do using GUSTA, pronouns, SER

Unit 1 Lesson 2: Appearance and personality traits using SER, definite and indefinite articles (el, la, un, una)

Unit 2 Lesson 1: Telling time, saying things you have to do using TENER QUE, saying activities using "-ar verbs" and frequency words and phrases

Unit 2 Lesson 2: Describe classes and classroom objects, say where items are located (estar + prepositions), say where I am going using the verb "IR", talk about how I feel using the verb ESTAR

Unit 3 Lesson 1: Talk about foods and beverages in the present tense (ER and IR verbs), describe food and beverage likes and dislikes using the verb GUSTAR

Unit 3 Lesson 2: Describe my family and others’, ask and tell ages, express possession using DE and/or possessive adjectives, say and write dates, make comparisons between people and items

Unit de Pobre Ana: Read a small novela called, "Pobre Ana", complete all dictionary questions and literary analysis for the novela.

Repaso + Unit 1 Lesson 1 : Review + travel preparations, airport language, Personal a, verbs that work like GUSTAR, direct object pronouns and indirect object pronouns

Unit 1 Lesson 2: Camping language, Preterite (regular and irregular), nature, write a story to perform around a campfire

Unit 3 Lesson 1 & Lesson 2: More preterite (stem changers for -ir), marketplace language, hace __ tiempo, spelling change i-->y

Unit 2 Lesson 2: Double Object Pronouns with commands, impersonal expressions + infinitives, impersonal constructions with SE; Opinion Article

Unidad de un reto individual- Create a learning goal for yourself. Keep a log of what you are doing to reach that goal. We will present evidence that we reached our goal at the end of the school year.
