DOJO!
Welcome to our DOJO!
Check out all of the cool rewards & activities below that students can earn. Students earn positive & negative points based on their performance in class.
Our Classroom Economy:
This year in math class we will be utilizing a classroom economy for two main reasons: behavior/classroom expectations and building financial literacy with the use of checkbooks. Each day students will have the opportunity to earn or lose (depending on behavior) Dojo points. All points both positive and negative will be visible to you on your accounts so you can see how your child did each day in class. Every Friday at the end of class the students will record their weekly totals in their personal checkbooks that they have made. Students will learn how to keep a register and maintain their "math money". After the school day on Friday points are erased and students have the opportunity to begin fresh for the next week. Twice a month on a Friday will be purchase days. There are 12 coupons that students can "buy" with their math class money. They will learn how to write a check and pay for what they want and adjusting their checkbooks to reflect money that has been spent. Students can use the coupons whenever they want and they never expire!
