Our Mission
The CW Tech (Creative Works Technologies) Robotarians team mission is to nurture pride, respect, and interest in science and technology among the next generation. Through the application of the engineering algorithm during the build and event season and marketing and community service during the whole year, we are growing future engineers, marketing professionals, programmers, graphic designers, commercial artists, builders, designers, and productive citizens who will, in turn, build a better future.
This mission unfolds in a multitude of ways, driving students to innovate
Team History
Our team “CW Tech” began as the “Shooting Comets” based in Coloma High School in 2009, then changed to “Coloma/Watervliet Technologies” as we combined with the then-rival Watervliet High School in the following year. We steadily began increasing our membership. Now CW Tech is proud to include 4 school districts and home school students from all throughout our community.

A General Overview of Our Past Few Years
In 2022, our team experienced a drop in members due to the heavy senior population of the year before and the lack of opportunity for recruitment during the pandemic. Despite this, we achieved more than we ever felt possible, gathering help from previous alumni and new recruits to qualify for the Michigan State competition and eventually the FRC World's competition in Huston, Texas. We were also the proud recipients of two awards.
In 2021, contests were all done remotely due to the pandemic, so there wasn’t any opportunity for advancement. We aided the community through the hosting of a blood drive at the Silver Beach ballroom, and a team member was nominated for the Dean’s List.
2020 was a difficult year for the Robotarians due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we took the opportunity to make ear savers for health care workers in addition to our other community outreach events. We were the recipients of the Safety Award at the St. Joseph event, and we received the Chairman’s Award at Shepard virtually during the pandemic.
In 2019, the Robotarians welcomed members from Bridgman and were honored to receive the Chairman’s award at Shepard in addition to the Safety and Gracious Professionalism awards in Forest Hills. A team member was the Dean’s List Winner of the St. Joe event, and another was nominated. We also began the tradition of providing a robot demonstration to the children at the Logan Autism Center.
