Thaweesak Trongtirakul, D. Eng., an Assistant Professor of Electrical Power Engineering at the Faculty of Industrial Education, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), holds a Doctorate in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. Before joining RMUTP, Dr. Trongtirakul served as a visiting scientist at the College of Staten Island and the Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY). He earned his M.Eng. in Instrumentation Engineering from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in May 2011 and his D.Eng. in Electrical and Information Engineering from King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi in July 2020.
Research Interests: Dr. Trongtirakul’s interdisciplinary research spans industrial mathematics, engineering, applied signal/image/video processing, data analytics, and industrial applications. His primary interests include Image Analytics, Computational and Machine Vision, Remote Sensing, Image Visualization Systems, and Algorithm Development. He has a special focus on programming and designing visual content analysis systems for texture, text, object detection, and other image-based content. Additionally, he works on developing scientific systems and architectures in electrical and electronic engineering, with an emphasis on advanced digital data processing, information sciences, and systems technologies in military, medical, and industrial information processing.
Collaborations: Dr. Trongtirakul together with Distinguished Prof. Dr. Agaian's Research Team have been developing mathematical models for practical imaging applications in Healthcare, Signal Processing, 3D Imaging Visible and Thermal Sensing, Computational Algorithms, Needs-Driven Medical and Biomedical Technology, and Other Related Fields.
