The venue is at Highland High School:
4301 E. Guadalupe Rd. Gilbert, AZ 85234
Parking:
Parking is in the student parking lot south of the auditorium
Check In:
Follow the signs on the east side of the auditorium for the Check In area. Dancers will remain backstage for the entire length of the show.
Only RMDC Staff and Volunteers are allowed past the check in table.
Call Times:
Call time means dressed in their first costume with hair and makeup completed. Please respect the times listed. Checking in too early means volunteers and staff might not be ready to receive dancers and will result in you having to wait until the appropriate time.
When you arrive to Highland High School, follow the signs to the check in table just east of the auditorium lobby and your dancer will be escorted by our Volunteers to their appropriate destination backstage.
There are no non-volunteer parents allowed backstage at any point before, during or after the show. This is to ensure the safety of all the dancers while they are waiting to perform. If you are a volunteer, you will check in for your designated time and head back to begin your assigned tasks. If you are not a volunteer, please do not attempt to go past the check-in as it causes distraction from the tasks that need to be carried out by our RMDC Staff and Parent Volunteers thus resulting in stress and timing issues. This includes past the check in table and in the band room. Dancers will remain backstage for the entire length of the show.
Remind your dancer that the parent volunteers are there to keep them safe and it is required that all dancers respect and listen to all RMDC staff and parent volunteers.
Please remember to be respectful with RMDC Staff and our Parent Volunteers, of whom give their free time to help the staff backstage. There are many hours put into making our recitals great. At the end of the day, our first priority is to keep your dancer safe. Please keep this in mind with our rules and expectations from you and your family.
Certain dancers are called to earlier times before they need to be completely ready to run through some aspects of the show. Please note the following:
10:00 AM Show #1 Character Tech Rehearsal Call Time
11:00 AM Show #2 Character Tech Rehearsal Call Time
11:15 AM Aerial Arts (Primary-Level 4) Tech Rehearsal Call Time
(After Aerial Arts rehearses, they can be checked out until their Show #2 Call Time)
Please arrive in complete make up and first costume on. If your dancer has multiple costumes, please ensure they are labeled and hanging on a hanger.
Please arrive in complete make up and first costume on. If your dancer has multiple costumes, please ensure they are labeled and hanging on a hanger.
Classes are dismissed one at a time to ensure everyone safely reconnects with their families. Please only send 1 person the the check out table to keep the hallway clear. If your dancer was in multiple dances, they will be dismissed with the LAST class they performed with. .
If you have more than one child in a show, please refrain from picking up both at the same time to avoid confusion backstage. If your dancer is in both shows, you are welcome to check them out for a break after Show #1 is completed and return them at the Show #2 call time. W
e thank you for your patience in this process as this ensures each of the dancers returns back to their family.

We have dancers who have severe nut allergies and want to ensure all dancers are safe while in our care.
Upon Check In RMDC Volunteers will ask you to confirm that you dancer does not have any snacks with nuts in them. Any snacks found backstage that do contain nuts will be confiscated and disposed.
To keep your dancer's costumes clean and the facility we are renting from. Please only send water with your dancer backstage. Too many things can go wrong with dance costumes and juice or soda! Please LABEL your dancer’s snacks as well so parent volunteers can keep the snack eating confined to their designated area.
Dancers receiving food from places like Doordash or Ubereats must have their food brought in through the Check In Tables. If you are ordering for your dancer to have backstage, please ensure to communicate to your driver to follow the signs to the check in table. Our RMDC Volunteers will not let any drivers backstage for any reason whatsoever.
THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY OF THE DANCERS WHILE THEY ARE IN OUR CARE.
Yes! As much as we are preparing for the recital in the classroom, dress rehearsal is an opportunity to introduce the dancers to the flow of the shows and dancing in their costumes before performing in front of an audience.
No. Only RMDC Staff will be in the studio during tech rehearsal.
No, all dancers are to remain backstage until the Finale/Bow is completed. This, again, is for the safety of all dancers. It can become too hectic and cause unnecessary panic when a dancer isn’t backstage where they are supposed to be. Once the show begins, all volunteers’ priority is ensuring the show runs smoothly and not on reconnecting dancers back with their families. When the bow is completed, all dancers will be escorted by teacher assistants and volunteers back to the waiting area and will follow the checkout timeline listed on this packet.
No. You may redeem your ticket (either recital fee or purchased) for one for our 2 shows. If you’d like to attend both shows, you will need a ticket for each show time.
If your dancer isn’t bathroom independent yet and participating in recital, they must have a parent volunteer or a hired nanny/babysitter volunteer in the backstage area. If you haven’t signed up to volunteer, please do so as soon as you can. You will be assigned as a volunteer helping the entire waiting area you are assigned to as well as provide bathroom assistance for your child.
No. For safety reasons. Only RMDC staff and parent volunteers are allowed backstage during the dress rehearsal and recital. Some of our dancers will have costume changes and our volunteers need to see during tech rehearsal if there are any timing issues that may present itself during the recital. Additionally, volunteers will be meeting and given instructions on the run down of the evening. Again, with all of the different operations being put in place due to current events, it can become disorganized very quickly backstage if there are non-volunteers backstage.
RMDC Staff work to organize costumes backstage for changes. We offer changing tents for privacy. If your dancer has a change that happens with less than 5 routines in between, this is deemed a 'Quick Change' and will be discretely conducted side stage with the assistance of RMDC Staff. Please remember to label every part of your dancer's costumes, shoes and accessories so they can be returned to you after the show.
Dancers with costume changes are encouraged to wear a nude leotard under their costumes if they would like. This way they are completely covered during their costume change.
