As a member of the team, it is expected that all athletes actively participate in practices. Under-training prior to a race-pace exertion can lead to injury when not actively attending or participating in practices.
**If you are resting or recovering from a minor injury, the coaching staff would prefer for you to heal fully and protect your long-term health and ability to run.**
See the below policies:
In order to participate in meets, athletes must:
Attend AND participate fully in 3 practices per week
It is expected that athletes attend all practices. If you are unable to attend a practice, you should communicate as soon as possible with coaches via email or Remind
What are considered "practice days"?
Practice days are considered to be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday (IF we do not have a meet on that Saturday).
Friday is NOT considered a practice day, as it consists of a shake-out run and not all members of the team attend 1st period PE.
Athletes may not be permitted to race if...
Attending less than 3 practices
Attending more than 3 practices, but may have sat out/did not complete workouts fully due to injuries, not feeling well, etc.
Meet attendance:
In order to race varsity, you must attend and participate in a majority of the races or meets in the 2026 season.
Must arrive at your event’s scheduled time and check in with coaches
Must stay for the entire meet to cheer on teammates; however, previously communicated commitments will be honored (other sports, family events, emergencies)
Multi-Sport Athletes:
We understand that cross country is not everyone’s single priority or passion, and we encourage and support student-athletes to pursue a variety of extracurriculars. However, being on this team requires your commitment to the aforementioned attendance policy.
