Core Virtue for the Month of December

December, the month of our “light in the darkness” holidays (Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa), is a time of hope. It is also a time when historically, we have turned our hearts toward helping those in need. Below we showcase books that highlight Year One's focus on generosity (with its attendant virtue of hospitality). Those traits require having eyes to see the needs of those around us.  

Through quality literature, children should come to appreciate that true charity involves empathy, making the good of the other our own.
