We hope this that you enjoyed a wonderful Spring Break. As we return, we are excited to share highlights from a busy and joyful March at Kennedy!
March was filled with memorable events that brought our school community together. We kicked off the month with Read Across America, inspiring a love for reading throughout our classrooms. Our first Career Day was a huge success—thank you to all the volunteers who shared their professions and sparked curiosity in our students! The Book Fair was another favorite, giving students the chance to discover new stories and build their home libraries.
We are thrilled to announce that our Read-a-Thon raised an incredible $9,578.25 for our school! Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and encouraged our young readers. Your support makes a difference.
Open House provided a wonderful opportunity for families to see student work and connect with teachers. We loved welcoming you into our classrooms and celebrating our students’ achievements.
Over Spring Break, our playground was repaved and now looks beautiful—ready for many more days of fun and play.
Our students will also apply their acquired knowledge and skills through the CA state assessments. 3rd through 6th-grade students will participate in the CAASPP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress). It's California's statewide student assessment system. This assessment will begin this month. Please look for information as it begins. Students need to be on time and attend school every day during testing. If students arrive late, they will not be able to join the class and will have to participate in a make-up testing day. 3rd-6th-grade students who are on time and present for all of their test dates will earn participation in a Game Truck in May.
As we look ahead, April and May are filled with more exciting events. We are eager to finish the school year strong and continue making memories together. Please see the important dates below for what’s coming up.
