In the event that a class or year group is quarantined and students cannot attend school in person due to Covid-19:
Riverside School expects that students will:
Be prepared to engage in learning from 8:15am each morning and follow their regularly timetabled lessons.
Attendance is expected.
Be on time for all scheduled classes (accessing the Hangouts Meet or Zoom video conference through Google Calendar).
Be dressed in attire in keeping with the school's guidelines for appropriate dress. Uniform is not required but dress ready for the day (no pyjamas).
When taking part in a scheduled lesson, students will not leave early.
Find a comfortable, quiet space at home where they can work effectively.
Be prepared with the necessary resources, equipment and materials close at hand.
Regularly monitor Google Classroom and school email to check for announcements and feedback from teachers.
Complete all assigned tasks and assessments with integrity and academic honesty.
Contact the teacher if a lesson is missed.
Meet timelines, commitments, and due dates.
Communicate with teachers if having difficulty meeting deadlines, if instructions for assignments are unclear or if there is a need for additional support.
Engage and collaborate with classmates and teachers. Follow the instructions given by teachers and support one another in learning.
Riverside’s expectations for conduct applies to online lessons. Adhere to our Acceptable Use Policy, including expectations for online etiquette. Students are expected to communicate thoughtfully and respectfully (during live interaction and in posts).
Ask teachers when they need help.
Students are expected to abide by the rules outlined in Riverside School's Acceptable Use Policy.
All students and parents have signed and agreed to this document.
Students are expected to meet the expectations and standards of good conduct and behaviour outlined by Riverside School.
